Switching is easy!

Answers to commonly asked questions:

Will my power supply be as reliable with Perth Energy?
Yes! – Western Power is still responsible for the quality, reliability and safety of the electricity supply.

Will my business be interrupted when making the switch?
In most cases Western Power will not have to interrupt power supply to make the switch. Perth Energy works closely with the customer and Western Power to ensure a seamless transition.

Where does the energy come from - where does Perth Energy get its power from?
Perth Energy buys its power from many different sources, including renewable sources and from the largest state owned generator and soon its own 120 MW, $100 million power station.

Perth Energy takes power from a number of generation sources including Verve Energy (the state's largest generator) and renewable energy providers AGL Energy and LMS to supply customers. The power sources include four landfill gas based renewable energy generators in the Perth metropolitan area owned by independent power producers (IPP). Power is also sourced from the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM).

Perth Energy has built its own 120 MW open cycle gas turbine (OCGT) power plant in Kwinana, which was commissioned in 2010.
